Well it's that time of year again. You all need to start thinking about X-mas lists and let me know. You can email them to be instead of posting them. Also you need to think about doing a grab bag. If we aren't all going to be together maybe you want to think about not doing it this year. But it's up to you all.

Hi everyone, this is Brett. I agree with Mom that if not everyone is going to be here, then Secret Santa should probably only be between people who will be in Kansas City for Christmas because to me, the joy of giving the gift is in watching people open the gift. I'm not trying to be a jerk about it, but for me, this is the best part of giving the gift.
Lisa and I bought our tickets and will be there from December 26th- January 3rd.

Being able to see people's faces as they open the gift is a good point because it is fun. :) It also sucks to be the only people who would likey be left out. :(
Hmmm... One happy face and one sad. Looks like we are undecided. Will go with whatever majority decides.
Joe says, it doesn't matter what his opinion is about all of this. He believes that it should be something we all want to do. If one person doesn't want to do it, for whatever reason, then we should skip it.
My opinion, for whatever it's worth, is that if we're not all going to be together, it should be skipped. There's no reason to leave anyone out, but the true fun is opening the gifts all together. We can change our mind next year if for some reason we can all be together.
As for our travel schedule. I'm guessing we'll be back to KC on the 28th. possibly late on the 27th, but most likely the 28th.

I also enjoy seeing the looks of glee on people's faces when they open a gift that I've put thought and/or time into. However, that is rarely the underlying motivation. I’m really trying hard not to sound “holier-than-thou”, but I am trying to remind us all why we started this tradition in the first place.
Secret Santa isn’t about HAVING to buy someone a present, it’s about having to buy only ONE present. It’s financially sensible. Equally, it’s about putting the thought and/or time into one of you each year. With that being said, whatever you all may decided to do, I will be putting your names into a hat, and one of you will be receiving a gift from me, whether he or she is here or not. Because, I wish I could buy one for all of you.
P.S. I love and miss you guys……kiss the babies.

But I do think you should have your own blogger name- using your mom's name is a whole new level of gay. ;)
Anyway, it looks like we will likely be there for at least a bit after all- Yeah Christmas!
