I just wanted to let everyone know I'm doing fine after my surgery. I saw the doctor today and he took out the drains and I feel better already. I'm still walking a little stiff but that will get better every day. Katherine came home on Saturday for fall break and she's been a big help. I think by the end of the week I should be able to get out a little more.
Saturday night Gordon, Katherine, Adam and Grandpa all went to see Lion King and thought it was great. I'm going to go in a couple of weeks with some friends. I'm really looking forward to it.
As it stands now we will be staying home for Thanksgiving. I decided not to go back the Avella for my reunion. It gets real complicated with travel arrangements. We have to go to San Antonio that following Tuesday for a retirement dinner. There's an outside chance Susie and Brian and Michael and Janis and their families may come here to see Grandpa.

By the way, Melissa, I understand you did well in the 1/2 marathon finishing close to 2 hours. I got an email from my friend Cec who also ran and I guess she saw your time posted. She finished in 2hrs and 10 min.

We had a great time and missed everyone who wasn't there. We definately have to get together more often. It was so much fun
